Audition Requirements


AUDITION REPERTOIRE REQUIREMENTS for PARTICIPANTS
Live auditions scheduled for February 2012 – application deadline February 25, 2012:


1. Young Composers Workshop Residency:
  1. Submitting three contrasting pieces for any ensemble or solo configuration, with at least one of them having an audio / youtube performance of the scores. 
  2. Submitting latest Resume / CV pertaining all musical experience, etc.

2. Conducting Apprenticeship: Prepare two videotaped conducting audition (uploaded online 
    on youtube) two contrasting pieces (either choral or instrumental conducting – choral preferred).

SCHOLARSHIP STUDENTS MUST AUDITION LIVE IN FEBRUARY 2011
(We will only hear possibly 10 to 15 minutes for each candidates - memorization NOT required but encouraged). 
Or you can submit DVD / post it online on youtube.
Live Regional Auditions will be held (TBD) in Surabaya, Yogyakarta, Jakara, Medan, Singapore, and Kuala Lumpur.

1. Category A and B Participants (Piano):
  1. Fill the application form and email it to yogyamusicfestival@gmail.com by February 25, 2012.
  2. Please perform three contrasting pieces, from three different time periods.
  3. Requirements are similar to the ABRSM / Trinity College /AZNCA Exam pieces, from piece A,B,or C
  4. Preferably, you should play a classical or baroque piece, and then choose two other free pieces.
  5. Memorization is NOT required, but encouraged – especially for piano students.
  6. Audition duration: 10 to 15 minutes, which also includes interview to know more about your interests, styles, and personality.
2. Category A and B Participants (Voice):
  1. Fill the applicaton form and email it to yogyamusicfestival@gmail.com by February  25, 2012.
  2. Please perform / sing three contrasting pieces, from three different time periods.
  3. Requirements are similar to the ABRSM / Trinity College / AZNCA Exam pieces, from piece A, B, or C.
  4. Preferably, you should sing a classical or baroque piece, and then choose two other free pieces.
  5. Please sing one in English or Italian language, and then you can choose two other free language for the other audition pieces.
  6. Memorization is NOT required, but encouraged.
  7. Audition duration: 10 to 15 minutes, which also includes interview to know more about your interests, styles, and personality.
